Thousand Oaks Post Acute, LLC ranks third in Ventura County nursing home size for Q1 2026

Thousand Oaks Post Acute, LLC was the third largest nursing home in Ventura County during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.

The center operated 123 available beds — 25 more than the Ventura County average in that period — and supported an average of 99.1 residents each day.

CMS assigned Thousand Oaks Post Acute, LLC an overall rating of 3 out of 5, which is below California’s statewide nursing home average of 3.2.

During the same period, Shoreline Care Center had the most beds in Ventura County with 193, while Victoria Care Center was second with 188 beds.

Thousand Oaks Post Acute, LLC reported $20,703 in fines and one penalty as of the first quarter of 2026.

There were 17 for-profit nursing homes in Ventura County, California, in total.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the older adult population in the country keeps rising, while the number of younger Americans is dropping. Between 2020 and 2024, the number of people age 65 and older increased 13%, as the group under 18 fell by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult population has expanded sharply over the last century, growing from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.

A study published in 2021 found nearly half of adults 65 and over, or about 28 million people, may need long-term services and support, with more than one-third possibly requiring nursing home care at some point.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
