CONCORD PD CELEBRATES GRADUATES OF THE PARENT PROJECT
Back in December 2022, we posted the unveiling of our new program, “Parent Project.” The 10-wk course was designed for participating parents to gain guidance in raising strong-willed teens and offer a forum where they can network with one another to come up with ideas and strategies for challenging scenarios involving their kids, ages 12-17. The Concord Police Department partnered with the Contra Costa Family Justice Alliance in introducing this pilot program.
This past Thursday, the parents in the program met for their final meeting and received their certificates for attending the course! Parents brought in delicious food as a pot luck offering and celebrated with one another in this awesome achievement. Helping to assist with handing out the certificates and congratulations were Program Manager, Lt. Sam Staten and Concord Police Chief Mark Bustillos.
The program was spearheaded by Officer Gatlin and supported by her co-instructors in Officer Santoyo and Dispatcher Valencia. We are very proud to have them represent our agency as they are shining examples of how the Concord Police Department partners with our community. A huge thank you to the Parent Program Instructor Team of Officer Santoyo, Officer Gatlin and Dispatcher Valencia!
And CONGRATULATIONS to all of the parents for participating in the program!!
