Construction continues on the Monument Boulevard Class 1 Path project at Monument Boulevard and Galindo Street at Cowell Road.
City staff is aware of the traffic impacts caused by a *temporary* right turn lane closure from Cowell onto Monument. Please be aware that these impacts are only temporary as the dedicated right turn lane onto Monument will be restored once construction activities are completed by the end of June.
In the meantime, the City is working to provide signage for a detour onto Mesa Street for right turn traffic. Additionally, signal timing adjustments at the intersection are planned for when the project is nearing completion, which will help alleviate the traffic impacts.
We appreciate your patience during this construction, as well as your understanding and support for the City’s goal to enhance pedestrian and bicyclist safety along Monument Boulevard and Galindo Street through this project.
