Congratulations to Jason Havelka for being named CIT Deputy of the Year and to Lizet Garcia for earning the Susan Luckey Mental Health Professional Award. Havelka and Garcia have made outstanding strides in improving the behavioral health resources in Camarillo.
Jason Havelka was chosen as the CIT Deputy of the Year because of his work with Camarillo's vulnerable population, particularly those experiencing homelessness or mental illness. Jason connects them with housing, treatment, and mental health resources, and coordinates with governmental and non-profit groups to ensure these resources are available.
Lizet Garcia follows up with vulnerable community members, shares information, prioritizes cases and ensures the most effective utilization of resources occurs in Camarillo. Garcia earned the Susan Luckey Mental Health Professional Award, given to a mental health professional who demonstrates integrity, honesty, advocacy, passion, collaboration/cooperation, compassion and commitment.
The Camarillo Police Department’s Project HOPE team is working hard for our city through the efforts of people like Jason and Lizet. Thank you!
